SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) ā In an online release Community Health Systems, which owns Commonwealth Health facilities in Scranton and Wilkes-Barre, says the three campuses will be sold to WoodBridge Healthcare Inc. by the end of the year.
According to the release, the three hospitals and related businesses will be sold for $120 million.
The acquisition also includes Commonwealth Health’s ambulatory surgery centers, emergency departments, imaging centers, and even outpatient rehabilitation.
Following the announcement, Congressman Cartwright released a statement saying in part, “Iām optimistic that these important healthcare assets will be saved and hopeful that this new owner will be more accountable to the patients, the staff, and the community it serves.”
